The aim of the charitable trust account, is to build capital that will grow in perpetuity, generate interest and dividends and provide funding to support the work of local charities and community organisations through a grants program commencing in 2012.
To help establish the Brimbank Community Fund, the Lord Mayor's Charitable Foundation will match donations dollar-for-dollar up to $100,000 until 30 June 2012.
The Foundation generates goodwill and community spirit and brings Council, business, charitable organisations and the community together with a common purpose.

Each organisation who is to receive funding from the Brimbank Foundation must be a registered charity with deductible gift recipient status.
Organisations are selected on their track record, their professionalism, their financial security and their ability to deliver services and benefits to young people with the Brimbank municipality.
Each charitable organisation is required to sign and adhere to a funding agreement.
