Accommodation Premises

If you are opening, buying or selling an accommodation business including a bed and breakfast, motel or boarding house you will need to register with Council.

Depending on whether you are establishing a new business, or buying or transferring an existing business you will need to apply for permits using the appropriate forms.

Starting a New Business

Please ensure that you have discussed your proposal with Councils Statutory Planning and Building Departments before you lodge and application with the Environmental Health Services Department.

Once you have obtained all necessary permits from those departments, you can submit your application for registration under the Public Health and Wellbeing Act 2008.  Your application is to include the following:

1. Application for registration with fee as advised by the Environmental Health Officer;
2. A copy of the floor plans to scale, detailing all rooms and common areas.
3. A copy of the Building Permit stating the classification of the dwelling.
