Business Association Support Policy
Council adopted the Business Associations Support Policy at its meeting on 15 March 2011.
The intent of the policy is for Council and business associations to work collaboratively to develop and improve Brimbank’s town centres.
In adopting the policy, Council has recognised the importance of strong, effective and progressive business associations. Council sees a clear role for business associations to represent the views of business and property owners and advocate to Council and other agencies about particular issues that affect them.
The policy provides for a consistent and transparent approach to the provision of financial and in-kind support by Council to business associations. The type of assistance available can include governance advice, administrative support, preparation of business and marketing plans, identification of funding sources, event planning, provision and promotion of business training programs, research including customer and business surveying and general information and support.
