Council recognises that practical and focused activities are needed to support the development of strong communities. Community members, groups and organisations have the opportunity to participate in a number of training and capacity building sessions and programs offered by our team.
Brimbank Community Leadership Program
The Brimbank Community Leadership Program provides opportunities for eligible community members to build and strengthen their capacity in community leadership and participation. The training program aims to support the contribution of individuals towards Brimbank as a diverse, active and well supported connected community, with high participation in local and municipal community life.

Are you 18 years old or over and live, study or work in the Brimbank Local Government area? Are you interested in working with others to develop and strengthen your community leadership and participation skills?
Council has engaged the services of the Australian Multicultural Foundation to co-present the Brimbank Leadership Program sessions.

- Week 5 Thu 26 May: Working with Groups
- Week 6 Thu 2 June: Working with the Media and Promotion
- Week 7 Thu 9 June: Group Presentations, Guest Speakers and Summary

Participants will get to use their skills and learning in a series of practical activities within the program and will receive information about opportunities for ongoing community participation.
