TAFE, VET and University Placements
TAFE, VET and University students seeking a work placement/ work experience must be currently enrolled in a course of study. It is also preferable that the student is completing the placement as part of their course requirements.
Send your enquires to workexperience@brimbank.vic.gov.au and outline:
- Your Name
- Contact details
- Course of study
- Whether the placement is required as part of your course
- The department you would like to do the placement in
- The type of work they would like to, or are required to complete as part of their course placement
- The dates/days and hours required of the placement and
- Any relevant skills you can bring to the placement
All these details are required to help find a placement for you. Please be specific otherwise we may find it difficult to place you.
Please note: that we do not provide any payment for TAFE or University Students. Only secondary students and VET students receive payment of $10 per day.
Placement Availability
Placement availability is subject to a variety of factors, these include
- Seasonal workload
- Staff leave and availability for the purposes of supervision
- Physical space to accommodate a student
- Whether there is relevant and meaningful work available for the student and
- The information provided by the student about the placement
Engineering placements are only available as internships and are advertised on this website in September.
Accounting/Finance placement enquiries will only be accepted in late April for placement in the second half of the year.
Sports and Recreation Management
Sports and Recreation placements offer a 360 hour internship in mid July each year other than that there are no other placements available in this area. To be eligable for a Sports and Recreation placement you must be studying a relevant tertirary course and apply for the internship when the position is advertised on our website in July.
