Yummy Lunchbox: Healthy Choices for Children

Published on Monday 13 February, 2012

What’s in your child’s lunchbox today?

Accredited practicing dietician Lucy Tartaro from ISIS Primary Care will guide parents through how to put together scrumptious and healthy lunchboxes for their children at the Yummy Lunchbox: Healthy Choices for Children session being held at Sunshine Library.

Topics covered at this event will include:

  • Creative lunchbox ideas
  • What does healthy eating look like?
  • How much fat and sugar is in the foods children commonly eat?
  • Why good nutrition is essential for growing children

The Yummy Lunchbox event is aimed at parents with school-aged children and is timed to happen soon after the start of the school year.

It is hoped the event will help in responding to the worrying prevalence of lifestyle related diseases in the western suburbs.
