Engineering Services

Engineering Services is responsible for providing residents with a number of Council services throughout the municipality including:

Design/Project Services

Design and documentation of Council's Civil Engineering and project manage other special projects ie. roads, car parks, drainage, Traffic Management Treatments and sporting facilities.

Infrastructure Development Drainage issues, property information, half cost fencing, building over easement, land liable to floodingroad opening consentsSpecial rate and charge schemes and sub division advise.
Pedestrian Facilities Programmed and response inspections are carried out to all footpaths and kerbs according to Council's Road Asset Management Plan. Maintenance is priority based and delivered by contractors. Vehicle crossing quotes for approved residential crossings can be provided for residents using the Vehicle Crossing Deferred Payment Scheme.
Strategic Engineering This business unit investigates future road capital works, street lighting provision using power supply companies and assets management.
Surveillance Construction supervision of Council capital and land development works and Council asset protection on road reserves including footpaths, naturestrips, kerbings, vehicle crossings and road pavements.
Traffic and Transport A branch of civil engineering that uses engineering techniques to achieve the safe and efficient movement of people and goods on roadways. Typical traffic engineering projects involve designing traffic control device installations and modifications, including traffic signals, signs and pavement markings. However, traffic engineers also consider traffic safety by investigating locations with high crash rates and developing countermeasures to reduce crashes. Traffic and Transport also assess permit applications for TMP's, B-Double, Hoarding FenceBulk Rubbish (skip bins) and mobile crane.
