MetroAccess
What is MetroAccess?

Who will contribute to MetroAccess in Brimbank?
MetroAccess will facilitate a range of projects that involve community members, people with a disability, their family members and friends, carers, community organisations, service providers and Council.
What are the aims of MetroAccess?
MetroAccess brings together the strengths, resources and creativity of local people, organisations and Council to enhance opportunities for community participation for people with a disability and their carers.
How does MetroAccess plan to reach these aims?
- By raising community awareness about the needs and aspirations of people with a disability
- By bringing together a diverse range of people
- Through developing partnerships and projects which respond to the needs and priorities of the Brimbank community
- With the creation of more opportunities for people with a disability to participate in all aspects of community life and
- By mobilising the strengths and assets in people, the community and within Council.
2011 Disability Services Directory
The Disability Services Directory is a MetroAccess initiative funded by the Department of Human Services and implemented in partnership with Brimbank City Council.
This Directory provides information on programs and services that are available for people with a disability, their families and carers, in the City of Brimbank and neighbouring regions. The aim of the directory is to provide a guide to Council services, community groups, clubs and organisations available across a broad spectrum of community activities.
It is envisaged that the Directory will be an invaluable resource to the community and assist in increasing participation in community life for people with a disability, their families and carers in the City of Brimbank.
If you would like to change current details or have a new service to be considered for inclusion, please contact the MetroAccess Officer at Brimbank City Council on (03) 9249 4000.
