Waste and Recycling

We offer waste services to residents including the collection of:
  • Recycling to be reprocessed (bright yellow lid)
  • Optional collection of green waste (bright green lid) and
  • Garbage once a week (smaller 140 litre bins with dark green lid).

Find out which day your rubbish, recycling or green waste is collected through our Waste Guide 2012.

Please note: Your bins must be out by 6am on your collection day and at least half a metre between the bins, with the wheels away from the road.

 Unemptied, damaged or missing bins

Lost, stolen or damaged bins can be reported at Sunshine Harvester Library or Keilor Customer Service, just bring along some identification with your name and address on it.

Changing your bin size

If you currently have a 240 litre garbage bin and find that you do not fill it you can opt to change to a smaller 140 litre garbage bin. If you have a large family or special conditions you can also purchase and additional 140 litre garbage bin.  Please note that purchasing an additional bin incurs an annual charge and eligibility is determined on a case by case basis.
