| Road Asset Management Plan | | Brimbank City Council, at its meeting on 23 June 2009, formally adopted its Road Asset Management Plan (RAMP) which describes how the Council will manage its road network in a safe, sustainable and financially responsible manner over the next 25 years.
The Road Asset Management Plan has been developed in response to the Road Management Act (2004) and asset management objectives. The Act has a significant impact on all authorities such as Local Government which maintain infrastructure and carry out work on roads. The Act also defines the rights of the road user and the amended Road Safety Act defines the obligations of the road user.
The RAMP quantifies the financial needs for Brimbank’s road network for the next 25 years, focusing on capital, operational and maintenance requirements. The Council has also produced a register which lists those Council roads which Council has deemed to be “public roads”.
