Learner Driver Mentor Program

L2P is an exciting new program for both young people aged 16 - 20 years of age and community volunteers who live, work or study in Brimbank.

The program assists young people who have difficulty accessing traditional supports, such as a vehicle or supervising driver, to accrue the mandatory 120 hours of driving experience.

Comprehensive training is provided to community volunteers who become supervising driving mentors, before matching them with learner drivers to undertake on-road driving practice.

The role of a Mentor is that of a supervising driver. Young drivers undertake a number of lessons with a professional driving instructor prior to being matched with a Mentor.

Three vehicles are available day and night, seven days a week.

There is no charge to participants of L2P, and all costs and insurances are covered by Council.
