Sydenham District, incorporating the suburbs of Calder Park, Delahey, Keilor Downs, Keilor North, Sydenham, and parts of Hillside, Keilor Lodge and Taylors Lakes, has experienced much growth in recent years and is now a hive of activity.

Got a day to spare?

For a day of fun with the family head to The Lakes Reserve, Taylors Lakes.

Set on the shores of Taylors Lakes, make sure you pack the fishing rod and some bread for the waterbirds before heading to this popular family destination. The kids will enjoy the fantastic playground, jetties extending over the lake and fabulous picnic and barbecue facilities. In the afternoon catch a movie at Hoyts Watergardens or go bowling at AMF.

If getting in touch with nature is your preference, start the day exploring Organ Pipes National Park. Go bush walking and inspect the extraordinary lava formation known as the Organ Pipes - you might even glimpse a wallaby, platypus or kangaroo. For lunch, head to a local hotel like Taylors Lakes Hotel. In the afternoon take a walk or bike ride along the Taylors Creek Recreational Trail and discover something new.

In the evening, why not check out what’s on at Calder Park Raceway or grab dinner at a local restaurant such as Priya Indian restaurant on Hume Drive, Sydenham or any of the restaurants in Station Streat at Watergardens.
