Development Compliance

Planning Permits have conditions setting out the use of the land.  These permit conditions tell you, what you can do and what you can’t do.  Development Investigation Officers will investigate any breaches of the Brimbank Planning Scheme.

These Officers will gain compliance by using the Planning and Environment Act 1987.  Compliance can be gained through, Warnings, issuing of on the spot Planning Infringement Notices which range from $550.00 to $2000.00, appearances at the Magistrates Court or at the Victorian Civil and Administration Tribunal.

Planning permits are not the same as Building permits.  Planning permits are required for the use of the land; while Building permits are for compliance with the appropriate Australian Building Standards and Regulations.
