Permit Types
There are two types of disabled persons parking permits:
- Blue Permit: Blue permit holders with significant intellectual or ambulatory disabilities are able to park a vehicle in a bay reserved for disabled motorists, or to park in an ordinary area or bay for twice the specified time.
- Green Permit: Green permit holders, provided to those who require rest breaks when walking, are able to park a vehicle in an ordinary area or bay for twice the specified time. However they are not permitted to park in 'disabled persons' parking bays.

Lost, Stolen or Damaged Permits
You can still use your disabled parking permit even if it is damaged as long as the permit number and expiry date are still readable.
If a replacement permit is required you can visit one of our Customer Service Centres and a new permit will be printed with the same permit number and expiry date.
If your Disabled Parking Permit is lost or stolen a new application form must be completed by the permit holder and their doctor. On receipt of the new application a replacement permit will be issued.
Why have I been given a Green Disabled Parking Permit and not a Blue one?
Blue disabled Parking Permits are only given to people with a significant disability requiring the need of a complex walking aid (which means a device with more than one point of contact with the ground) or a caregiver.
Green permits are given to those that require rest breaks when walking, they enable the permit holder to park a vehicle in an ordinary area or bay for twice the specified time.
