Social Support Programs

Planned Activity Group

The Planned Activity Group (PAG) is a social support and recreational program available to eligible elderly residents. PAG provides a number of programs catering to everyone from frail aged, Dementia and culturally specific.

Programs operate from Monday - Saturday with centres located across the municipality servicing residents from Brimbank, Moonee Valley and Maribyrnong.

A balanced meal is provided as part of our program and Community Transport may be available.

The lifestyle programs are aimed at providing fun and leisurely community outings and run fortnightly.

Recreational Program

We provide services offering affordable recreational activities for the elderly, young people and adults with intellectual and/or physical disabilities.

This is a community based program which offers fun friendly outings and a chance to meet other people. Activities can range from bus outings, movies nights, bowling, and lots of other enjoyable activities.

Carer’s Support Group

Our support group in the Western Region provides information and assistance to carers in a friendly and relaxed environment.

Meetings are bi-monthly on the last Tuesday of the month from 5.30-7.30pm.

Community Transport

We maintain one of the largest fleet of vehicles dedicated to providing quality Community Transport.

We offer accessible transport for people who are transport disadvantaged due to age or disability.

Our Transport service operates Monday to Friday and is accessible to eligible residents accessing Community Facilities such as:

  • Planned Activity Groups
  • Senior Citizen Clubs
  • Shopping Centres and
  • Community buses hire.

All users of the service must be residents of the municipality and be registered with council as an "Approved Bus Users" as per council guidelines.

Community Meal Program

This monthly social support program allows older people and those with a disability, who are socially isolated, to meet once a month over a meal and participate in centre based activities.

Transport to this activity may be provided by Council’s Community Transport Service.

Please note: A waitlist may apply for certain services.
