Brimbank Filipino Community Leadership Program

Join the Brimbank Filipino Community Leadership Program.

Are you passionate about community and would like to have the skills to make a difference? This program will recognise and celebrate the unique strengths, experiences and contributions the Filipino Community bring to the Brimbank community.

Through hands-on workshops, expert mentoring, and collaboration with like-minded peers, you’ll develop leadership skills and gain practical experience in driving sustainable solutions.

The Brimbank Community Leadership Program aims to provide opportunities for eligible community members in Brimbank to build and strengthen their capacity in community leadership and participation. The program brings together community members to build knowledge and share experiences with each other.

Benefits

As a participant in the program, you will: 

  • Get to meet and learn with other likeminded community members keen to support their development in leadership.
  • Learn from experts in areas of importance and interest. Some of the topics covered in the program include:
    • What is community leadership?
    • Leadership styles and knowing your style
    • Communication skills and Public Speaking
    • Project planning and working with others
    • Hear and learn from past leadership program participants.
  • Be supported in planning and delivering a community project at the end of the program in a group.
  • Upon successful completion, be part of the Brimbank Leadership Alumni Program.

 

Conditions

To participate, you need to:

  • Be a member or associate of the Filipino community.
  • Be 18 years or older and live, work, volunteer or study in Brimbank.
  • Commit to attend at least 80% of the program and participate in the community project.
  • Submit an EOI via the link below before the closing date.

Details

  • Council will cover the cost of your participation to the program. 
  • Sessions will be held at a council venue in Brimbank.
  • Interpreters can be arranged on request.
  • Morning tea and light refreshments will be served.
  • Complete the EOI form.
