The Council Chamber is open to members of the public, or you can watch via live stream on our YouTube channel.
Council Meetings are generally held at 7pm on the third Tuesday of each month, except in December and January.

Register to attend a Council Meeting
You need to register to attend a Council Meeting as a member of the public gallery. Registration is required by 12 noon on the day of the meeting. Register online or by calling us on 03 9249 4000.
Photo ID will need to be shown prior to entry to the Council Chamber.

Behaviour in the Council Chamber
The Council Chamber is open to the public to observe Council meetings. We also live-stream Council meetings via YouTube.
Members of the public attending Council and committee meetings are:
- expected to behave respectfully at all times
- not permitted to engage with the Councillors or Council Officers during the course of the meeting.
Officers, Councillors and members of the public have the right to be safe and treated with respect at these meetings.
You may be asked to leave the meeting if your behaviour is considered inappropriate, disruptive or rude.
We will not tolerate any behaviour that threatens the safety of anyone present in the chamber, or which disrupts the ability for Council to conduct its business on behalf of the community.

Council Meetings are recorded so that everyone who cannot attend/view a meeting has the opportunity to watch Council debate and decision-making at their own convenience. You can view the latest meeting below or via our YouTube channel. Please note: The recording for April 2024 is unavailable.

Planning forums
A Planning Forum is held on the Tuesday night prior to the Council Meeting each month, to hear submissions in relation to planning matters.
Submitters can discuss issues with Council on planning applications that Council will subsequently consider. The forum is less formal than a Council meeting and is chaired by an attending Councillor.
