Mandatory candidate training
If you are planning to nominate as a candidate at the next local government elections, you will not be eligible to do so unless you have completed the mandatory training prescribed by the Local Government Act 2020.
The Victorian Government provides this training for all Victorians who wish to nominate as a candidate in any council elections. For more information on the training visit the Local Government Victoria website.
Election questions from Candidates
Did you know current Councillors and Candidates can ask us a question about the election?
When answering your questions we must ensure that public and staff resources:
-
are not used in election campaigning
-
are not used in a way that may improperly influence the result of an election
-
improperly advantage any candidate standing in the election.
We will publish all questions except those that are:
-
unrelated to the election
-
in breach of the Privacy Act
-
related to subjects for future resolution by Council.
This may result in some requests for information being denied.
This list of questions and answers will be available during Caretaker period, which is from Tuesday 17 September to Saturday 26 October 2024.
