About We Are Brimbank Awards
2020 is the third year Brimbank Council has presented the We Are Brimbank Awards. These awards celebrate the pride and potential of our city and aim to publicly recognise the exceptional contributions, hard work and determination of organisations and groups that make a positive difference within Brimbank.
Culture, Arts and Tourism Award - Demonstrated outstanding contribution to the rich cultural, heritage, tourism and artistic fabric of the Brimbank community.
We have over 40,000 years of aboriginal history and 166 nationalities represented in our municipality. Our rich heritage and industrial past are complemented by modern, vibrant food, culture and art scenes. This award celebrates the fantastic projects, events, groups or enterprises that showcase and develop our communities’ rich cultural fabric.
Environment and Sustainability Award - Demonstrated outstanding contribution to the protection, enhancement and awareness of Brimbank’s natural and urban environment.
We’re surrounded by natural treasures and enjoy great open spaces and recreational facilities. This award celebrates groups, projects or activities that create a more environmentally sustainable city, or initiatives that encourage residents to contribute and take care of our environment for future generations.
Employment and Enterprise Award - Demonstrated outstanding contribution to the prosperity of Brimbank.
We’re at the heart of Australia’s fastest-growing region. So we're perfectly placed to lead Melbourne and Victoria's future growth. This award acknowledges the sole traders, businesses, social enterprises and organisations that find innovative ways to keep us contributing and prosperous.
Inclusive Brimbank Award - Demonstrated outstanding contribution to promoting participation in community life and supporting proud, safe and healthy citizens.
Our diversity has made us what we are today – a proud, dynamic, harmonious and welcoming community. This award celebrates groups, projects or activities that enhance the lives and wellbeing of residents, promote understanding or provide support and positive outcomes for the disadvantaged, at-risk or vulnerable in the community.
Learning Excellence Award - Demonstrated outstanding contribution to the ongoing education, learning and engagement of the Brimbank community.
We're a community that values lifelong learning and education for everybody. This award recognises the schools, sports clubs, businesses, groups and learning centres that deliver innovative, learning-rich environments and projects that boost our community’s knowledge, skills and wellbeing.

These Awards are not opened to individuals the 2021 Australia Day Awards will be opened later in the year to nominate individuals for the Brimbank Citizen of the Year and the Brimbank Young Citizen of the Year.
