The Brimbank Community Advisory Committee operates according to a Terms of Reference and Charter.
Barry Harvey AM (Chair)
Barry was founder and then Managing Director of Austco Polar Enterprises, one of the largest cold storage logistics operations in Melbourne.
He has been a resident of Brimbank for 45 years and has a long track record of service to the communities of Melbourne's west.
Barry is currently the Chair of WynBay LLEN. Barry was made a Member of the Order of Australia in the Australia Day honours 2001 for his services to industry and the community.
Kay has worked in senior roles in the Banking Financial sector for well over 27 years, in this time her background has been in Credit Unions and Community Banking, exposing her to all walks of life and varied communities.
Financial literacy, youth and seeing people succeed in their goals and aspirations are the rewards for her determination to engage proactively with her communities.
Cr Daniel Allan (Brimbank City Council)
Cr Allan has lived in Kealba for 20 years.
He believes Brimbank’s greatest strength is the community’s vibrancy and willingness to come together.
Cr Allan has been an active volunteer and involved with community events for many years. He was motivated to run for Council by his passion to help make Brimbank the best it can be.
He is particularly passionate about encouraging young people to be more active in the community.
Chris Hatzoglou is a founding member of the Brimbank Community Fund Advisory Committee and has been continually involved since 2013.
Raised in Sunshine West, he has been a volunteer within the Brimbank community for over 26 years.
Currently a volunteer committee member of the Sunshine Heights Cricket Club. This follows a number of years in Executive roles, including nine as President.
Professionally, Chris has held a number of roles within the tertiary education sector across a range of functions and services. Chris is currently the Associate Director, Planning & Resources at RMITs School of Vocational Engineering, Health & Sciences.
Craig has lived in Brimbank for over 30 years and is currently a Director and shareholder of Brad Teal Real Estate and a qualified Chartered Accountant. Craig has strong ties to the Community through his sporting pursuits having been President of the Keilor Football Club for over 10 years as well as a Life Member.
He brings a wealth of experience in seeking or allocating fundraising, delivering projects and activities for youth and the wider community and has demonstrated business acumen and networks.
Bruce is an Area Manager at Westpac bank, formerly the Bank Manager at the Sunshine Branch for over 7 years, and has worked or lived in the area for over 25 years.
Since 2010, Bruce, as a founding member, has held the role of the President or Vice President of the Sunshine Business Association (SBA). SBA has 420 members with an annual expenditure of $400,000. SBA is involved in business development activities and also supports a range of community projects and initiatives centred around safety and cleanliness. SBA has been successful in creating changes throughout the Sunshine community over the past 10 years and is viewed as the most active association of its type in Victoria.
Bruce has also sat on the Sunshine Partnership Group for over 5 years supporting many changes delivered in infrastructure and investment thought Brimbank.
Julia White has held a number of senior positions in fundraising and philanthropy over the past 15 years, and is currently the Director of the Western Health Foundation. Prior to this, Julia was General Manager of Philanthropy at Zoos Victoria.
She has experience in both seeking funding and also distributing grants and working with grant recipients to achieve their goals. Julia has lived in Melbourne’s western suburbs since relocating from Perth in 1996.
Julia has been connected to several service organisations supporting children and young adults through her work as a foster parent and is keen to continue to supporting the young people of Brimbank.
Harriet is the Program Manager – Healthy and Cohesive Communities at the Lord Mayor's Charitable Foundation.
The Brimbank Community Fund is a sub-fund of the Lord Mayor’s Charitable Foundation and is proudly supported by Brimbank City Council.
