The Brimbank Community Advisory Committee operates according to a Terms of Reference and Charter.
Barry Harvey AM (Chair)
Barry was founder and then Managing Director of Austco Polar Enterprises, one of the largest cold storage logistics operations in Melbourne.
He has been a resident of Brimbank for 45 years and has a long track record of service to the communities of Melbourne's west. Barry is currently the Acting Chair of LeadWest's Board of Directors and the Chair of WynBay LLEN.
Barry was made a Member of the Order of Australia in the Australia Day honours 2001 for his services to industry and the community.
Kay has worked in the Banking Financial sector for well over 25 years, in this time her background has been in Credit Unions and Community Banking, exposing her to all walks of life and community connections.
Financial literacy, youth and seeing people succeed in their goals and aspirations are the rewards for her determination to engage proactively with her communities.
Cr Sam David JP (Brimbank City Council)
Councillor David was first elected to Brimbank City Council in 1997 and was elected Mayor in 1998-1999, 2004, 2007-2008.
A long-term resident of Brimbank, he has committed much of his life to community service and regularly assists local senior citizens groups and sports clubs.
He is a Justice of the Peace and President of the Western Region Honorary Justices.
Over a career spanning 18 years, Chris has worked across a range of functions within the tertiary education sector. Chris is currently the Senior Manager of Planning Resources at RMIT School of Vocational Engineering, Health & Sciences.
Chris has been a dedicated community volunteer in Brimbank over the past 25 years.
He is currently a volunteer committee member of the Sunshine Heights Cricket Club following a number of years in Executive roles, including nine as President. He is a founding member of the Brimbank Community Fund Advisory Committee.
Priya is a law student at the University of Melbourne. In addition to studying, she sits on the Department of Premier and Cabinet’s Multifaith Multicultural Youth Network, and recently returned from an internship at the United Nations Development Program in Timor Leste.
Living in India, Oman and the United Arab Emirates, and having attended 14 different schools before arriving in Australia at the age of 11, Priya was exposed to a diverse range of influences, which have shaped her beliefs and values significantly.
Craig has lived in Brimbank for over twenty five years. He is currently Principal of Brad Teal Estate located in Keilor, and is a qualified chartered accountant.
Craig is president of the Keilor Football Club and strives to develop strong community spirit in his volunteer work.
He brings a wealth of experience in seeking or allocating fundraising, delivering projects and activities for youth and the wider community and has demonstrated business acumen and networks.
Bruce is Bank Manager at Westpac bank’s Sunshine Branch. Since 2010, Bruce has held the role of the President of the Sunshine Business Association (SBA). The SBA has 420 members with an annual expenditure of $400,000.
The SBA has successfully delivered a number of annual community events as well as worked on many environmental and social issues. Bruce has also sat on the Sunshine Partnership Group since its inception.
Julia White has held a number of senior positions in fundraising and philanthropy over the past 12 years, and is currently the General Manager of Philanthropy at Zoos Victoria.
She has experience in both seeking funding and also distributing grants and working with grant recipients to achieve their goals. Julia has lived in Melbourne’s western suburbs since relocating from Perth in 1996.
Julia has been connected to several service organisations supporting children and young adults through her work as a foster parent and is keen to continue to supporting the young people of Brimbank.
Harriet is the Program Manager – Healthy and Cohesive Communities at the Lord Mayor's Charitable Foundation.
The Brimbank Community Fund is a sub-fund of the Lord Mayor’s Charitable Foundation and is proudly supported by Brimbank City Council.
