Council Meetings are generally held at 7pm on the third Tuesday of each month, except in December and January. The Council Chamber is open to members of the public (please register here to attend), or you can watch via live stream on this page or on our YouTube channel.

Register to attend a Council Meeting

You need to register to attend a Council Meeting as a member of the public gallery. 

Registration is required by 12 noon on the day of the meeting. Register online or by calling us on 03 9249 4000. You will need to bring Photo ID to enter the Council Chamber.

Behaviour in the Council Chamber

The Council Chamber is open to the public to attend Council meetings in person. We also livestream and record Council meetings. 

Officers, Councillors and members of the public have the right to be safe and treated with respect at the meetings. Members of the public attending Council and committee meetings are:

  • expected to behave respectfully at all times
  • not permitted to engage with the Councillors or Council Officers during the course of the meeting.

You may be asked to leave the meeting if your behaviour is considered inappropriate, disruptive or rude. We will not tolerate any behaviour that threatens the safety of anyone present in the chamber, or which disrupts the ability for Council to conduct its business on behalf of the community.

Council Meetings are recorded so that everyone who cannot attend/view a meeting has the opportunity to watch Council debate and decision-making at their own convenience.

This meeting is being publicly broadcast via live stream and the recording will be published on Council’s website www.brimbank.vic.gov.au after the meeting.

The live stream will always be available and recordings of all public section will be complete.

Planning forums

A Planning Forum is held on the Tuesday night prior to the Council Meeting each month, to hear submissions in relation to planning matters.

Submitters can discuss issues with Council on planning applications that Council will subsequently consider. The forum is less formal than a Council meeting and is chaired by an attending Councillor.
