The St Albans Community Centre (STACC) and the Bowery Theatre opens with a gala community showcase day on the 18 March.
The community is invited to celebrate the opening by enjoying a full day of entertainment, live music, children’s activities, dance, tours of the centre and more. There’s no charge to attend.
The new venue built at the former Errington Community Centre site includes
- a 200 seat performing arts theatre made possible through the generous donation of $2.5 million by the St Albans Community Centre Co-Operative Ltd; and
- new community hall spaces each holding 100 people with retractable walls giving a space for over 300.
Additional spaces include a café, exhibition space, performance stair, dance studio, arts and craft room, rehearsal rooms and meeting rooms.
The newly named Bowery Theatre at St Albans Community Centre reflects the arts and culture of Brimbank’s richly diverse community. It's a place where art can be celebrated, ideas discussed, arts education explored, and bold entertainment experienced.
The redevelopment of the former Errington Community Centre is a key project of Stage One of the Errington Precinct Master Plan, which was developed through community engagement and consultation with the Errington Community Reference Group.
