Love Your Station Day

Come join the Friends of Kororoit Creek's Love Your Station Team for our monthly (every last Sunday of the month) tidy-up of the Sunshine Station planting.

We’ll be tending to our planting, seeing how our new wildflowers Wahlenbergia stricta (Australian Bluebell) and their friend Leptorhynchos squamatus (Scaly Buttons) are settling in, plus doing a little watering and weeding too.

Starting at the City Place side of the station we’ll do a maintenance clean-up and pull a few weeds for an hour, while having a chat and a catch-up. Followed by a cuppa in town if you’re free!

Being such a visible planting, this is the FOKC flagship urban planting, raising awareness of the Kororoit Creek and educating the wider community about the link between litter on our streets and pollution of our beloved Kororoit Creek. As 95% of the rubbish washed down through the stormwater drains to the creek comes from our city streets, we can do a lot of good cleaning up Sunshine and inviting others to Love Where You Live!

Bring your friends and meet some new ones as we keep our lovely new station beautiful!

In case of bad weather, please contact the organiser (Jodie Williams) to confirm the event will go ahead.
