Register a swimming pool or spa application

If you have an existing swimming pool or spa and including a relocatable pool and/or spa erected for 3 or more consecutive days, you must register with Council.

Existing swimming pools and spas must be registered by 1 June 2020.

New pools and spas completed after 1 June 2020 must be registered within 30 days from when you receive a certificate of final occupancy permit as referenced on your building permit.

Before you submit your registration make sure you read the Pool and Spa safety laws.

This form will take you a good 10 minutes and there are some things to get ready before you apply.

To apply you will need:

  • Details of the swimming pool or spa construction date
  • Copies of Building permits or supporting documentation (if you have them)
  • A credit card to make the payment

Permanent swimming pool or spa - Any swimming pool or spa that is permanent and cannot be moved. These structures include in ground pools and spas or above ground pools or spas that are not capable of being relocated and are fixed in a permanent location.

Combined permanent swimming pool and spa - Any combined swimming pool and associated spa that is permanent and cannot be moved. These structures include swimming pools that have an attached or connected spa.

Relocatable swimming pool or spa - Any swimming pool or spa that is capable of being relocated and erected more than three consecutive days. These structures include Jacuzzi’s, inflatable pools or the like.

Multiple swimming pool or spa - More than one swimming pool or spa that are enclosed separately by individual barriers. These can include a combination of a permanent or relocatable swimming pool and spa. This option will incur an additional registration fee.
