Errington Reserve

  • 309A Main Rd E, St Albans VIC 3021
  • Wurundjeri Country

Alice’s Playspace is an exciting new inclusive playspace at Errington Reserve, St Albans that opened in July 2013.

We designed this playspace to create a key destination where children of all abilities and ages can play together.

The playground equipment is specifically designed for accessibility and inclusion, spaces that will engage all of the senses, and allows carers to remain in close proximity to their charges if required.

There’s great barbecue and picnic facilities, lots of seating and trees. The toilets were upgraded so children and adults who are restricted to wheelchairs can use them.

There’s wheelchair accessible car parking on Percy Street. It provides easy access to the playspace.

Developing this playspace involved a very successful partnership between Brimbank City Council and the Touched by Olivia Foundation. It’s the first time this type of partnership has occurred in Victoria.

TBOF’s vision is network of inclusive playgrounds throughout Australia. They specialise in providing financial and in-kind support to local governments from the private sector.

The name of the playspace honours Alice Errington, who donated the land in 1910.

Alice’s Playspace is part of the Errington Master Plan.
