Media Release - Get In2Tennis at no charge this February

In2Tennis returns in 2021 as Brimbank Council gets ready to serve up a COVID-safe version of its annual community festival of tennis fun this summer.

Brimbank Mayor, Cr Ranka Rasic said the program is planned to run alongside the Australian Open, from Monday 8 February to Sunday 21 February 2021, with no charge tennis activities planned at nine local tennis venues.

“In2Tennis is a fantastic opportunity for community members to give tennis a go no matter their age, ability or fitness level,” Cr Rasic said.

“It’s all about having fun and discovering all there is to love about tennis.

“The 2021 In2Tennis festival has been modified to reflect our COVID safe practices, such as limited program numbers, hand sanitiser available and appropriate record keeping of attendance, so you’ll still be able to safely try out a wide range of tennis activities.

“Best of all it’s all at no charge – including tennis court hire and all of the activities throughout the festival.

“All you have to do is register and turn up on the day.”

During In2Tennis, community members can register to take part in:

  • No Charge Tennis Court Hire – at participating clubs with nominated times
  • ANZ Hot Shots – for children aged 3 to 12 years
  • Cardio Tennis – fun tennis workout for all ages, abilities and fitness levels
  • Open Court Sessions – social tennis with a soundtrack
  • Tennis4Teens – social program for 12 to 17 year-olds
  • Blind & Low Vision Tennis – inclusive tennis program
  • Adult Social Play – no commitment, social league format for adults

Registration is essential.
