Do you have a request for compensation?

You may be eligible for compensation for loss or damage arising from an incident, which was caused by Council's negligence.

Your request for compensation will be subject to investigation and the findings assessed on their own merit.

Most requests for compensation are below Council's insurance excess and, therefore are not covered by an insurance policy.

How long will it take to assess your request for compensation?

Approximately eight weeks. It may take longer due to delays in obtaining information and other factors beyond Council's control.

You will need

  • An enquiry number from previously reporting the issue to Council (this must be obtained before completing this form)
  • Incident and Insurance details
  • Witness details (witness statements from family and friends are not accepted)
  • Supporting documentation to substantiate your loss e.g. quote, invoice, receipt and relevant photographs
Type of compensation *
