Action for Equity: A sexual and reproduction health strategy for Melbourne’s west 2018-2022
Brimbank Council is part the Action for Equity partnership which works to improve sexual and reproductive health outcomes for the community by redressing the social, cultural and economic drivers of sexual and reproductive health inequities.
The partnership is guided by a four year strategy, ‘Action for Equity: A sexual and reproductive health strategy for Melbourne’s west 2018–2022’ and biannual action plans. The partnership is led by Women’s Health West.
Sexual and Reproductive Health Services
Below is a list of services that are available at this time to support your sexual and reproductive health.
Laverton Sexual and Reproductive Health Hub
The Laverton Sexual and Reproductive Health Hub provides services that assist in managing all matters related to women’s sexual and reproductive health in the West including:
- providing information relating to sexual and reproductive health
- unplanned pregnancy
- STI screening and education
- contraception advice
- IUD and contraceptive implant insertion and removal
- fertility awareness and family planning
- cervical screening
- management of PCOS, endometriosis and menopause
This service is bulk billed for clients with a current Medicare card.

Sunshine City Medical Centre
Sunshine City Medical Centre have specialist doctors for adolescent sexual and reproductive health. Telehealth appointments can be made and are free to Medicare card holders.

IPC Health
IPC Health have general sexual health support services for everyone, as well as special services for women including sexual and reproductive health services, menstrual health, contraception and family planning and pregnancy testing, breast awareness and pap smear services, help for women dealing with menopause or mid-life issues, and help with continence issues.
