The purpose of resident permits is to give eligible residents greater opportunity to park within the designated parking permit area, however they do not guarantee that a space is available.
Resident parking permits allow you to park without restrictions in a designated area on the street you live on. However, the permit does not allow you to park in 'no stopping' areas, car parks, loading zones, or parking spaces with timed restrictions without a signed permit exemption.
A resident permit holder will be able to transfer their resident permit on a temporary basis to another vehicle within the household or a genuine visitor to the residence.

Who can apply
To apply for a resident parking permit, you must live on a street that has timed parking restrictions with permit exemptions.
Multi-units (three or more dwellings per lot, apartments etc) built after 18 August 2020 will not be eligible for a residential permit.
Properties that have a mixed use (i.e., apartments on upper floors and a café, shop or business on ground floor) are not considered eligible residential properties.
What will I need to apply for a parking permit
To apply for a resident parking permit, you will need all of the following:
- a valid email address
- a VISA or MasterCard credit or debit card (for 2nd permit only)
- You will also need to prove that you live at the address with a proof of residency document. A Proof of residency document could be a:
- driver's licence (with your current address)
- current vehicle registration notice
- rates notice
- lease agreement
- utility bill (this cannot be a mobile phone bill) showing the property service address
How much does a permit cost
- 1st Permit is free, and validity is one year from the date of approval
- 2nd Permit will cost $39 and validity is one year from the date of approval
