Community Safety Strategy

The Brimbank Community Safety Strategy 2015-2019 reflects a longer term vision for Brimbank as a safe, healthy and connected community.

The strategy outlines four priority areas for community safety action:

  • Injury Prevention: Prevent and reduce injuries as a result of road crashes (all road users), falls/ trips and other intentional or unintentional injuries.
  • Crime Prevention: Prevent and reduce crime against the person, crime against property and men’s violence against women and children.
  • Alcohol and Other Drugs: Prevent and reduce alcohol and other drug related harm for individuals and communities.
  • Community and Place: Increase positive perceptions of safety in public places, especially during the night and within activity centres and transport precincts, through community connection and pride, place activation and quality urban environments.

An internal Implementation Plan will be developed annually to address the above priority areas and support the implementation of the  strategy.
