The Brimbank Advocacy Plan 2023-25 (PDF 2.3MB) defines Council’s key advocacy priorities to 2025.

The plan sets out Brimbank’s key advocacy priorities, which includes:

  • Transforming Brimbank
  • Mental health
  • Road infrastructure
  • Climate emergency
  • Addressing unemployment
  • Housing and homelessness
  • Melbourne Airport Third Runway
  • Gambling harm
  • Major parks
  • Libraries
  • Government burden on Council.

Brimbank’s new advocacy priorities have been developed to align with the themes and objectives of the ‘Together we are Brimbank’ Plan, including the 2021-25 Council Plan, the Community Vision 2040 and the Municipal Public Health and Wellbeing Plan. These plans were developed with input from extensive community and partner consultation.

This updated plan was developed following a successful 18-months of advocacy outcomes, with many of our priorities being achieved or promised. The plan also accounts for the changing political and social landscape following the pandemic State of Emergency during which the previous version of the plan was created.
