    Welcome to Brimbank City Council

The City of Brimbank is the second largest municipality in Melbourne with an area of 123 square kilometres and more than 170,000 residents.

Located just 20 kilometres from the CBD, Brimbank is a dynamic and rapidly growing city encompassing 25 new and established suburbs including Sunshine, St Albans, Keilor and Sydenham.

On 17 November 2009 Minister for Local Government Richard Wynne appointed Mr Peter Lewinsky, Ms Joanne Anderson and Ms Meredith Sussex AM as the Administrators of Brimbank City Council over the next three years.
   Community Consultation
Brimbank City Council is calling for submissions on its Draft Electronic Gambling Strategy and Draft Brimbank Community Learning Strategy. Copies of these documents and details on how to make a submission can be found by clicking here.
   
Update on former Sunvale Primary School Site - State Government’s future plans
At the end of July 2010 Council received official advice from the State Government about its future plans for the former Sunvale Primary School site.

WestLink is one of several major projects in the Victorian Government’s $38 billion Victorian Transport Plan. Linking Melbourne Authority is conducting a planning study to consider the route for WestLink. More information is available here.

Brimbank Literary Festival 13–24 September 2010
Everyone is invited to take part in the annual Brimbank Literary Festival 2010 that aims to nurture and inspire emerging writers and lovers of literature through a range of events.
   Help revitalise Sunshine by responding to this survey
Council is establishing a program to revitalise and enhance the Sunshine Town Centre. By responding to a survey you can assist in identifying the activities, services and facilities that the community would like to see in the Sunshine Town Centre, and how the community feels about the centre. Sunshine Parks Forum - Have your Say 11 September 2010
Council is holding a community forum, children's workshop and morning tea to discuss its strategy to transform Sunshine’s parks, and to gain input into the design of three reserves to be upgraded in 2010/2011.
