Our Local Historical Societies support policy (PDF 88KB) guides our support and assistance to historical associations in Brimbank.
The objectives of the policy are to:
- support the role of local historic associations to promote and advocate the importance of heritage development, maintenance and enhancement of Brimbank’s historical sites and heritage
- encourage effective and coordinated collaboration between Council, local historical societies and friends groups, regarding the management and preservation of Brimbank's significant historical sites, buildings and artefacts
- support local historians to access appropriate financial and in-kind support from Council and other sources
- increase transparency and accountability in the provision of financial and in-kind support to local historical societies and friends by Council.
