Backyard and open-air burning off is generally not permitted in Brimbank.
However, there are a few exceptions and in these instances, a permit is required. Such circumstances include:
- for a special commemorative event
- when it is a medical necessity
- to destroy noxious weeds or fire hazards that cannot be removed by other methods
- for agricultural purposes in farming areas.
Permit charges
A non-refundable application fee of $82.20 must be paid when submitting the complete application form.
Once an application is approved a permit fee of $342.20 is required.
