Ban on single use plastic

Non-plastic fork, knife, spoon, straw cleaner and straw

Victorians cannot purchase, or be supplied with single-use plastic drinking straws, plates, cutlery, drink stirrers, cotton bud sticks or expanded polystyrene food service items and drink containers from any business or organisation. These items cannot be sold or given away for free. It is the responsibility of all businesses and organisations to understand and comply with the ban.

There are penalties associated with this ban, and fines can be issued. The Environmental Protection Authority Victoria (EPA) is responsible for compliance and enforcement.
