The Community grants policy (Major policy) (PDF 4.8MB) commits Council to delivering the Community Grants. The Community Grants program provides funding to community groups and organisations for projects and activities consistent with Council’s strategic objectives.
The policy provides for
- At least one grants round to be held in each calendar year;
- A commitment to transparent, accountable and equitable decision making; and
- Council to actively support organisations to develop their projects.
Nature, Purpose and Rationale
The Community grants policy (PDF 4.8MB) provides significant levels of annual grants funding to support community orientated projects and activities.
A strong and transparent policy framework is needed to guide this significant investment. It ensure consistency in assessing, acquitting and monitoring the community grants.
