About the DAC

Brimbank City Council is seeking Expressions of Interest for community members to join the Brimbank Disability Advisory Committee (DAC). We have two (2) vacancies for community members with disability.

The Brimbank Disability Advisory Committee (DAC) is a consultative forum established to provide meaningful input and advice on matters related to access, equity and inclusion for people with disability who live, work, study or socialise in Brimbank. The Committee will oversee the implementation of the Brimbank Disability Action Plan 2022-2026 (DAP).

The DACs objectives are to:

  • Consult people with disability and ensure community input and discussion.
  • Provide Council with advice on all areas of access and inclusion at all levels of government.
  • Provide oversight and monitor the DAP implementation aimed to shape and create an accessible and inclusive community.
  • Recommend strategic advice and recommendations on the planning, development, and review of Council policies, programs and initiatives, ensuring they are inclusive and accessible.

The DAC membership appointments will be for a term of four (4) years.

We are seeking diverse representation of experience, gender and culture identity and welcome expressions of interests from young people and First Nations People. Download the EOI form.
