In-home Support Services

Our in-home support services can assist you to remain active in your community. We provide practical support through encouragement and, when required, assistance to maintain and develop independent living skills.

How to Apply

Please note, a waitlist may apply for services.

For more information about eligibility, and to discuss your care needs, please contact Council’s Ageing and Inclusion Unit on (03)9249 4494 or the MyAgedCare contact centre on 1800 200 422 or visit My Aged Care.

Domestic Assistance

We provide basic homecare support. If you feel you need a hand keeping your home safe, clean and tidy, we can help with mopping floors, dusting, changing bed linen and laundry.

Delivered Meals

If you're an older resident, or have a disability, who finds it hard to cook and prepare food, we can provide you with a three-course meal. We deliver the meals to you, and each week our drivers bring the menus for the next seven days.

Personal Care

We can help you with personal hygiene if you need assistance to shower or bathe, dress and groom. Our qualified and trained staff can offer practical support and assistance, and are here to maintain your independence for as long as possible.

Respite Care

If you’re a primary carer for a senior or someone with a disability, we can provide valuable relief, to give you a break from your role.

Depending on your care plan, we may be able to provide qualified care at home, or organise the support needed for one of our recreational activities.

The way we allocate respite care does depend on available resources, and we always give priority to caregivers in most need.

Home Maintenance

Our home maintenance service provides minor household repairs such as changing light bulbs, replacing tap washers, fixing door hinges – jobs that don't require a qualified tradesman such as a licensed electrician or plumber.

Also, we may be able to help with modify your home to make life easier for you, including:

  • Installation of grab rails
  • Hand held shower hose
  • Ramps.

Before we can install anything an Occupational Therapist will assess your situation and needs.
