Brimbank Council will deliver an exciting line-up of events for International Women's Day, celebrating the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women.
International Women’s Day is celebrated each year on 8 March where we are encouraging everyone to embrace equity and raise awareness that our individual actions, conversations, behaviours and mindsets can have a significant impact on our larger society.
This year’s events, scheduled from 3-12 March across Brimbank, include:
- International Women’s Day Breakfast – hear from a line-up of inspirational speakers discussing how we can embrace equity here in Brimbank, in partnership with Watergardens Town Centre. For tickets, go to trybooking.com/CFGLT.
- Women’s Wellness Retreat - embrace womanhood through health and art
- Women in STEM Toddler Storytime – enjoy stories about women’s achievements
- Afterschool Activity Zone – find out about iconic women throughout history
- Celebrating Strong Women Classes – work out to songs by female artists
- Women’s Rights Presentation by WEstjustice – learn to recognise and respond to sexual harassment and discrimination in the workplace
- A roving entertainer will also hand out complimentary mimosa flowers, the official symbol of International Women’s Day, at Sunshine and St Albans Town Centres.
